Tyson Sketch

Ive always been a fan of Mike Tyson. In fact i was one of those people where the crazier he would seem to act in the media, the more i liked him. even after the ear biting and the insane post fight interviews, i was a fan. The other day a friend sent me a video of something i thought that i would never see. Mike Tyson at a tea party. Thats right, iron mike, the baddest man on the planet sitting down to tea. it was just bizarre. The entire time i thought Mike was gonna snap and literally fold his interviewer in half, especially when he offered Mike cannoli (apparently he loathes them). Anyway after watching that video i got this urge to draw Mike, so today i did this sketch of him in his glory days.
You can check out the video of Mike's tea party here

Awesome sketch, bro. The color splash is just enough. Yeah, Mike was the man. When Buster Douglas knocked him out, I thought the world had stopped spinning on its axis. I still don't think anyone could beat Mike when he's at his peak physically and mentally.

During the build up to his fight with Frank Bruno, he toured the UK's inner city areas visiting poor estates. Aparently, the children adoured him far more than Frank and shouted "you're wicked!"
He was, he is, and i remember him for igniting a rather flacid Heavyweight scene back in the eighties. This caricature is wicked!

glad to see im not the only one who remembers mike at his finest. he is one of the scariest people ive ever seen. thanks for stopping by everybody and glad you dig the drawing,im trying to decide if i wanna paint this one. if so, full color or black and white with the color gloves? tell me what you think. more to come soon

Maybe a black&white raging bull type finish?

Black and white with the red gloves !

yeah scott, raging bull is exactly what i was thinking about. the more and more i go over the idea in my head, the better the black and white with the red splash sounds

The cool thing about this caricature is the way it seems to be moving in a typical predator-type Tyson style. He had great lateral movement, can't wait for the finished article.
